7/13 - What wedding day would be complete without a trip to a crocodile farm. (I hear that is traditional in a Queensland wedding?) Dan wanted to be sure we got a chance to see some real honest to goodness crocs in Cairns, so off to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures. I think Di sent us on this adventure to keep us (and Dan) occupied as she was pampered and primped for the big moment.
Hartley's was a crocodile farm but has turned into an adventure park. I expected this to be significantly cheesy...but was disappointed as the tour was actually pretty good and the animals were really cool to see.

Is there anything more adorable than a mama Koala and her joey? |
Yeah, can't have too many pictures of this incredible sweetness! |
These lounging lizards don't look so tough...of course we weren't about to get out of the boat to find out! |
A bit over fed according to the guide. |
The guides dangle pieces of chicken over the crocs to give them exercise and to give us a show. What a vicious and effective killing machine...very impressive! |
Certainly not a site you want to see while lounging on the banks of a river. |
The Cassowary enclosure, this flightless bird seems pretty prehistoric. The horn on it's head grows like a rhino horn! Given a running start this bird can be a killer...just ask Florida Man |
Kookaburra sitting in the old gum tree...(now you will never get this old Australian children's song out of your head...evil, evil earworm! ) |
OK,ENOUGH STALLING...a quick bite and a pint at the pub with some of Dan's mates, then we need to get these two married off!
