Brave Croc Hunters

7/13 - What wedding day would be complete without a trip to a crocodile farm.  (I hear that is traditional in a Queensland wedding?) Dan wanted to be sure we got a chance to see some real honest to goodness crocs in Cairns, so off to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures.  I think Di sent us on this adventure to keep us (and Dan) occupied as she was pampered and primped for the big moment.

Hartley's was a crocodile farm but has turned into an adventure park.  I expected this to be significantly cheesy...but was disappointed as the tour was actually pretty good and  the animals were really cool to see.

Is there anything more adorable than a mama Koala and her joey?

Yeah, can't have too many pictures of this incredible sweetness!

These lounging lizards don't look so tough...of course we weren't about to get out of the boat to find out!

A bit over fed according to the guide.

The guides dangle pieces of chicken over the crocs to give them exercise and to give us a show.  What a vicious and effective killing machine...very impressive!

Certainly not a site you want to see while lounging on the banks of a river.
The Cassowary enclosure, this flightless bird seems pretty prehistoric.  The horn on it's head grows like a rhino horn! Given a running start this bird can be a killer...just ask Florida Man

Kookaburra sitting in the old gum tree...(now you will never get this old Australian children's song out of your head...evil, evil earworm! )

OK,ENOUGH STALLING...a quick bite and a pint at the pub with some of Dan's mates, then we need to get these two married off!
